Funeral and Memorial DOve Releases

· Doves are not able to navigate at night. Therefore, the release must be scheduled to allow adequate time to get home before dark. Within the Southern Maryland Area this is two hours before sunset. We can calculate the latest possible time from your event location, based on the date of your event.

· We will NOT release our doves indoors

· We will NOT release our doves in inclement weather, such as:

• Rain
• Snowing or snow coverage on the ground
• High Winds
• Heavy fog or storms.
• Poor Visibility
• Poor Air Quality

· We will NOT ship our birds for self-releases.

· We ensure that every event has at least one knowledgeable release coordinator present at all-time until the doves have all been released.

Terms

· Agreement is subject to weather conditions allowing birds to arrive home safely. Payment is 100% refundable if we determine in advance to our departure that the release is not possible. If a release is not possible, we may be able to offer a substitute service, such as a dove display.

· Balance is due before birds are released

· Payment is accepted in the form of a Credit Card, Apple Pay, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo or Cash

· Delays past the contracted release time are subject to a late fee. $50 after the first Hour, and then $25 for each half hour past the contracted release time.

o Example: release time is 2:00 and if the release is past 3:00 it will be a additional $50 fee and if it goes till 3:30 it will be an additional $ 75.00 Due promptly before birds are released.

· Our service area covers approximately 50 miles from La Plata, MD

If you are not going to a cemetery and we are releasing at another location such as church or funeral home, we will do the release once everything inside is done and everyone will gather outside for the Dove Release.

At a graveside service we will do the doves after the funeral director is done under the tent and before the lowering if you are witnessing the lowering. We will step everyone out from under the tent and whoever is opening the baskets will be told where to stand and what to do before we start our presentation.  Family members may open the baskets but NOT handle any birds. We DO NOT offer any hand releases for the safety of our birds.
